For our final flashback for the weekend we’re going all the way back to 2010 and the now-defunct Minneapolis Anime Convention. In addition to the one and only playing of High Rollers (which wasn’t filmed) we also debuted a game that would continue strong for the rest of my convention run. Keeping with the theme of debut game shows, today’s flashback comes from Tsubasacon 2016. It’s the debut of the game where the lowest scorers are the biggest winners. It’s Pokémon-themed, and it’s Pointless! Enjoy!

This weekend saw quite a few “virtual” conventions where folks live streamed panels and other convention staples, since large physical gatherings are currently banned most places for obvious and essential reasons.

Today I’m sad to hear about the passing of Robert Axelrod. I got to know him on the convention circuit; he loved participating in my games and was always asking when we were going to be at a show together.
As a tribute to him, here’s some video of games where Robert appeared as a celebrity guest. You’ll be missed, Robert.
