For our final flashback for the weekend we’re going all the way back to 2010 and the now-defunct Minneapolis Anime Convention. In addition to the one and only playing of High Rollers (which wasn’t filmed) we also debuted a game that would continue strong for the rest of my convention run. In three parts, here’s the debut of Farkle!
We’ll see you next week for some more blasts from the past. In the meantime, stay safe and wash your hands!
Keeping with the theme of debut game shows, today’s flashback comes from Tsubasacon 2016. It’s the debut of the game where the lowest scorers are the biggest winners. It’s Pokémon-themed, and it’s Pointless! Enjoy!
I thought for this weekend’s flashback videos that I’d focus on debut games. This one is from AkaiCon a few years back. Enjoy “Know Your Role” featuring Jason Marsden, Scott McNeil and Matthew Mercer. This was the game’s first official playing.
This weekend saw quite a few “virtual” conventions where folks live streamed panels and other convention staples, since large physical gatherings are currently banned most places for obvious and essential reasons.
Just wanted to give a heads up that, with this becoming a bit of a trend in convention circles, if anyone is interested in utilizing my game show software for such an endeavor, I’m running a sale in my Etsy shop. All game show software is currently 15% off. Sale will likely stay in place for the foreseeable future.
Today’s flashback goes back to 2014 and features a game show that will hopefully put a smile on your face. It’s Line ’em Up from Triad Anime Convention. I hope you’ve enjoyed this weekend’s blasts from conventions past. I plan on continuing doing this on weekends for now. Be safe, everyone!
Here’s another flashback video for your entertainment. I’m going to be showing videos from conventions that have been canceled or postponed this year due to the pandemic. Today’s video is a really exciting game of Sale of the Century, from Zenkaikon 2018. I hope you enjoy it!
With conventions being cancelled due to the pandemic, I thought it might be nice to go back and revisit game shows I hosted at those conventions. Hopefully it will give you a nice diversion for an hour or so.
Here’s Password from Colorado Anime Fest 2017, with guest stars Matthew Mercer and Ciarán Strange:
Today I’m sad to hear about the passing of Robert Axelrod. I got to know him on the convention circuit; he loved participating in my games and was always asking when we were going to be at a show together.
As a tribute to him, here’s some video of games where Robert appeared as a celebrity guest. You’ll be missed, Robert.
